Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela qualify for WBSC Baseball5 World Cup

Cuba, the defending World Champions, swept Mexico in the final of the Americas qualifier. The hosts, Venezuela, advanced to the World Cup by defeating Puerto Rico twice in the Opening Round.

World No. 3 Cuba, No. 8 Mexico and No. 15 Venezuela qualified for the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup 2024 with Cuba sweeping Mexico (8-1, 6-4) in the final of the Baseball5 Pan American Championship, the WBSC Americas Qualifier in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.

Cuba finished the tournament undefeated while Mexico finished the Opening Round in second place and advanced to the final after they defeated third-placed Venezuela in the semifinal, 2-1 (2-5, 8-2, 3-2).

The hosts Venezuela gained their World Cup spot with two wins against Puerto Rico in the Opening Round.

The II WBSC Baseball5 World Cup is scheduled from 7 to 12 October at the Central Harbourfront Event Space in Hong Kong-China. Eleven teams have qualified so far:
