World No. 8 the Netherlands defeated No. 20 Great Britain, 23-5, in the final of the U-23 Baseball European Championship at Ducksfield in Wiener Neustadt, Austria to repeat as U-23 champions. It's their third title since WBSC Europe introduced the U-23 age bracket in 2017. Great Britain earned an historic silver medal.
The Dutch scored the first five runs without getting a hit and would score 23 on six hits, 19 walks and five defensive errors.
Both nations advance to next year's WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup, hosted by the Chinese Baseball Association at the Shaoxing Baseball Softball Sports Culture Centre.
No. 22 France shut out No. 19 Germany, 5-0, to earn the bronze medal.
