USA Baseball announces U-15 National Team roster

The defending WBSC U-15 Baseball World Champions USA announced the 2023 National Team roster.

Two players on the roster helped the US win their second consecutive U-15 Baseball World Cup in 2022. Grady Emerson returns to the programme after starting eight games during the 2022 gold-medal run, where he hit one of the team’s eight home runs. James Tronstein also earned a spot in this year’s Training Camp squad after playing in all nine games and batting .368 for the US last summer.

The roster announcement follows a five-day camp at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

The National Team Championships in Arizona and North Carolina and the National Team Identification Series (NTIS) served as the primary identification events for the 44-player preliminary roster.

Rob Shabansky, who served as the pitching coach on the 2022 U-15 World Champion staff, will manage the US. Shabansky is joined on the staff by pitching coach Casey Scott and assistants Derek Simmons and John Weber.

U-15 USA will compete in friendly international games in September.

The next WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup is scheduled for 2024.
