12U BWC: Russia earns historic Win over Pakistan

Youth Park/Taipei City. Russia got its first win in 12U Baseball World Cup history. On Sunday afternoon they defeated Pakistan 27-4. They scored seven runs in the third, six in the fourth and ten in the fourth inning to pick up the victory. Pakistan kept it close in the first few frames, but the score blow up towards the end. They dropped to 0-4, while Russia improved to 1-2.

They dropped to 0-4, while Russia improved to 1-2.

Taras Bezhan went 3-for-5 with five RBI and also pitched an inning on the mound. Aleksandr Bespalyy collected four hits and four RBI. Ivan Moiseev and Artem Logvinov each crossed the plate four times. Logvinov got the start as pitcher as well and gave up three hits, three runs (1 ER) and a walk in three innings for the win.

Syed A. Shah went 2-for-3 with a RBI for Pakistan. Syed M. Shah had a hit, a run, a RBI and three stolen bases. Shoaib Sajjad surrendered five hits, 11 runs (5 ER) and five walks in 2 1/3 innings to take the loss.

On Monday Russia will face Korea in the afternoon at Youth Park. Earlier in the day Pakistan takes on Panama at the same venue.
