15-hit offense propels Puerto Rico to shutout win over Colombia in Lima

Kathyria Garcia and Tatianna Roman had three-hit games to lead Puerto Rico’s offense in their third win of the event.

Kathyria Garcia and Tatianna Roman had three hits each, and Janelle Martinez collected three RBI in Puerto Rico's win over Colombia, 7-0, on the fourth day of the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup. The Caribbean team had 15 hits in five innings.

Samantha del Hoyo hit an inside the park home run in the second inning, and added an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. 

Elyse Marcano got the win in 4.2 innings of work, giving up four hits and three walks, with no runs allowed. Brianna Roberts retired the last out of the game.

Emily Barrera was charged with the loss in 4.2 innings of work, allowing 15 hits and 7 runs in the game.
