15U BWC: Brazil with Shutout over Hong Kong

Brazil celebrated their second shutout at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship in Parral, Mexico. On Saturday they one-hit Hong Kong 16-0 in five innings. Ten runs in the fourth blew the score wide open.

Shortstop Lucas Sakay resumed his great play at the plate from game one, going 3-for-3 with a walk, four runs and three RBI. He also stole four bases. Artur Oliveira and Leonardo Nakamura also drove in three for Brazil. Yik Shun Yiu had the lone hit for Brazil.

On the mound Gustavo Shiomatsu and Giovanni Trevisan combined to hold Hong Kong to one hit and two walks in five scoreless innings. She struck out five. Hon Nang Horace Ip was charged with 12 hits, 15 runs (13 ER) and six base on balls in 3 1/3 innings, taking the loss.
