2012 European Championship: Results Day 3, September 9

Six games were played at day three of the 2012 European Championship in the Netherlands on Sunday. The Czech Republic delivered the biggest upset of the tournament so far. The team of manager Andy Berglund stunned the Netherlands 3-2 in ten innings to not only hand the event host its first loss, but also claimed its first victory.

In the two other Group B matchups: Germany used eight strong innings by Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez and some timely hits to defeat Great Britain 6-1, improving to 3-0 at the top of the standings. Also Frederic Hanvi hit a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning in a 9-8 slugfest over Belgium.

In Group A Italy came back from a pair of deficits against Spain to remain its clean slate. RBI singles by Stefano Desimoni and Gabriele Ermini completed the comeback in a 4-3 win in the eighth. Greece got its second win thanks to a nine-run rally in the fifth. They defeated Russia 9-5 in the evening. Earlier in the day Philip Gajzler broke a 2-2 tie in a 4-2 win of Sweden against Croatia.
