The WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup is a platform that consistently features players who go on to become the biggest names in the sport.

Cuban rookie Randy Arozarena (WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2013) has set historical Major League Baseball records for most hits and home runs in a single postseason. He has (so far) racked up 11 home runs and 27 hits this postseason.

The home run record in a single postseason was previously shared by Barry Bonds (2002), Carlos Beltran (2004) and Nelson Cruz (2011), who all slammed eight bombs.

Arozarena, born on 28 February 1995, also played for the Cuba National Team in the WBSC U-16 Baseball World Cup 2011 (now the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup).

Clayton Kershaw became MLB's all-time postseason strikeout leader as he punched out six in game five of the 2020 World Series.

The 32 year old is one of the premier pitchers in all of baseball. He represented the United States in the U-18 Pan-American Championship 2005, a qualifier to the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.

Kershaw has now 207 career strikeouts in the postseason and surpassed Justin Verlander, who set the previous record (205) last year with the Houston Astros.

Game six of the 2020 World Series is scheduled at 8 pm US Eastern Time on Tuesday, 27 October.
