2020 Olympic silver medalist Tim Federowicz to manage at Triple-A for MLB's Seattle Mariners

The veteran catcher played 163 MLB games over eight seasons. He was on the Dodgers' Triple-A roster in 2021 and served as the backup catcher for the US in Tokyo.

The Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB) announced that Tim Federowicz, the backup catcher of the US National Baseball Team that won the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, will serve as the manager of their Triple-A affiliate, the Tacoma Rainiers.

Federowicz appeared in 163 MLB games over eight years. He made his debut on 11 September 2011 for the Los Angeles Dodgers. His last appearance was on 25 September 2019, when he played for the Texas Rangers.

Federowicz's staff includes hitting coach Brad Marcelino, pitching coach Alon Leichman and coach Zach Vincej -- both of whom have national team coaching experience.

Marcelino coached Great Britain at the World Baseball Classic Qualifier, while Leichman was on Israel's coaching staff at the World Baseball Classic 2017.
