WBSC puts the highest priority possible on the well-being of athletes, the global image and integrity of the sport, which WBSC has a duty and responsibility to safeguard at the world level. WBSC has zero tolerance for the type of behaviour displayed by certain delegation members during the altercation

A total of 67 games of suspension were issued by WBSC as a result of the brawl between Spain and Italy that happened on the field of the Nino Cavalli Stadium on Saturday, 21 September, during the Baseball Europe/Africa Qualifier. The individuals will be fined and suspended, effective immediately, from any WBSC sanctioned event.

WBSC is applying the maximum economic fine and suspension possible based on WBSC Tournament Regulations. Furthermore, the individuals mentioned above will not be allowed to enter the competition stadium premises for the remainder of the tournament.

All the suspension may be appealed.
