Anti-doping Monthly Webinar: Nutrition and Clean Sport - Practical Advice and Tips

The WBSC is joining the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to celebrate Play True Day 2024 on Friday, 19 April.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and the International Testing Agency (ITA) partnership offer monthly seminars to Member Federations. This month's event, Nutrition and Clean Sports, is scheduled for Thursday, 25 April. Muaythai world champion, holistic nutrition expert and ITA Education Ambassador Janice Lyn will lead the session. She will provide practical advice and tips from her experience and answer questions live at the end of the session.

The focus will be on supplements, which can be a risk for athletes. Maximising a food-first approach to nutrition and considering lifestyle factors before using supplements can reduce the risk of an inadvertent Anti-Doping Rule Violation.

The webinar is in English. ITA will provide simultaneous translation to four additional languages – Arabic (العربية), Spanish (español), French (français) and Russian (русский).

The WBSC-ITA partnership also offers a seminar tailored on baseball/softball. It's scheduled for 28 May at 14:00 CET.

Meanwhile, the WBSC is joining the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to celebrate Play True Day 2024 on Friday, 19 April. The campaign, which uses the hashtag #OnePlayTrueTeam, is designed to include everyone that contributes to clean sport.

Education is paramount in the WBSC Integrity Unit's Play Ball, Play Fair anti-doping campaign, which will continue in 2024.

In line with the WBSC Education Plan 2021-2024, the WBSC website has a dedicated section for Educational Tools, which includes a World Antidoping Agency (WADA) Classroom Toolkit and an Antidoping Education and Learning Platform (ADEL).

The WBSC would like to remind its members that the 2024 Prohibited List and 2024 Monitoring Programme entered into force on 1st January 2024. All major modifications for 2024 are outlined in the 2024 Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes.
