Argentina completes second stage of Baseball5 development programme

A total of 22 coaches, from five provinces, participated in the second stage of the Baseball5 National Development Program.

Baseball5 keeps growing in Argentina and South America with the completion of the second stage of Argentina's Baseball5 National Development Program. A total of 22 coaches, from five provinces, participated in an intensive training camp in Buenos Aires, a city that received Baseball5 for the first time in 2018 as a demonstration sport at the Youth Olympic Games.

The course was given by WBSC Baseball5 Instuctors Andrea D'Auria and Pablo Leone, and the participants were trained in all areas of the game, including coaching, officiating a game, operations, event management and legal.

The first stage of the development program included a series of Baseball5 introductory coaching courses in five provinces: Salta, San Luis, Córdoba, Chubut and Buenos Aires City, for more than 100 coaches. A selection of 22 advanced to the second stage, held in Argentina's capital city.

Supported by the Olympic Solidarity and the WBSC, the program aims to culminate with a Baseball5 national tournament to select Argentina's first national Baseball5 team.
