Army defeated the Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in the final in Islamabad, 19-10, to win the 17th Women's Softball Pakistan National Championship.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) beat Punjab, 16-6, in the bronze medal game to claim third place.
Eight teams participated in the National Championship: Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, Army, WAPDA, and HEC.
After round robin play, WAPDA defeated Punjab, 16-6, and Army outscored HEC, 27-12, to advance to the semifinals.
The tournament served as a first selection for the National Team. The best players will soon break camp in preparation for the Women's Baseball Asia Cup, scheduled from 21 May to 2 June in Hong Kong. The tournament will qualify three teams for the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup.
