Baseball and softball seasons to open in Switzerland

The Swiss Baseball Softball Federation will host the U-23 Baseball European Championship Qualifier in Zurich in August.

The 2024 Swiss baseball season will open on Friday, 12 April, in Zurich when the defending champions Challengers play the Barracudas in a night game. The Will Pirates and the Therwil Flyers also participate in the top baseball division (Swiss Baseball NLA).

The 2024 baseball season also includes the NLB (participants are split into Central, West and East Zones), the Swiss Cup, First League (1. Liga, also split into three zones) and Cadets, Juveniles and U-12 tournaments (live pitching and coach pitching).

Six teams participate in the top women's softball division (Swiss Softball NLA): Bern Cardinals, Luzern Eagles, Zuerich Challengers, Wittenbach Panthers, Zuerich Barracudas and Sissach Frogs.

Zurich Challengers and Wittenbach Panthers will open the season on Saturday, 13 April.

The softball season also includes the co-ed slowpitch second division with a record number of 11 participating clubs.

2024_Switzerland_Opening_Day

It will be an intense 2024 for the Swiss Baseball Softball Federation (SBSF), which will host the U-23 Baseball European Championship Qualifier in Zurich from 5 to 10 August. SBSF announced moving company Gosselin as their new sponsor.

The Zurich Barracudas will host the Baseball Federation Cup from 3 to 8 June.
