Baseball5 in Burkina Faso promoting peace, social cohesion

Displaced children participated in a Baseball5 game between the teams of Kaya and Ouagadougou, and will join the Kaya club.

The Burkina Faso Baseball and Softball Federation (FBBS), in collaboration with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized a day of integration, promotion of peace and social cohesion on Saturday, August 13, in Kaya, the capital of the Sanmatenga Province, northeast of the nation's capital Ouagadougou.

Kaya is home to many displaced people, including children. Many participated in a Baseball5 game between the Kaya and Ouagadougou teams, and are now ready to join the local club.

The day included an FBBS presentation and a baseball exhibition featuring some of the country's best players.

FBBS president Ibrahima Sibore and the representative of JICA, Adiza Traore, conveyed messages of promotion of peace and solidarity towards the populations of the zones affected by the terrorist acts.

The representative of Humanitarian Action also welcomed the initiative of the FBBS, which came in support of the multiple humanitarian actions carried out by their structure for the benefit of displaced persons.

The representative of the region's governor and that of the Ministry of Sports congratulated FBBS and JICA for the initiative.

At the end of the day FBBS and JICA presented a donation to the displaced persons.
