SAINT PETERSBURG (RUS) – Baseball’s Riccardo Fraccari, was elected today as secretary general of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations at the ARISF General Assembly, which was held at the SportAccord Convention at the Lenexpro Exhibition Complex in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

“It’s a great honour to be entrusted with this key position by my colleagues from the various member federations,” the newly elected Fraccari said.

ARISF currently has more than 30 International Sports Federations (IFs) within its organization, which have all obtained recognition by the International Olympic Committee as the supreme authority governing their respective sport at the international level.

“The collective knowledge, experience and creativity of the ARISF membership is vast and the sports represented show a rich diversity, which very much complement each other,” Fraccari stated.

“We have a duty to protect and evolve our sports for all of our athletes and membership, and to contribute to the actions of the Olympic Movement. I take this responsibility very seriously; and in this regard, I am looking forward to serving under President Chiulli from Powerboating,” Fraccari underlined.
