The Belgian softball season came to an end with Mont-Saint-Guibert Phoenix winning the D1 Women's Softball title, while Deurne Spartans won the championship in the men's competition. In the WBSC / KONAMI Softball World Rankings, Belgium is No. 24 in the men's list and No. 29 in the women's chart.
In the D1 Women's Softball League, MSG Phoenix swept the defending champions Beveren Lions in three games to clinch the title. Both teams posted the best records in the regular season, with MSG Phoenix going 31-9 and the Lions 28-11.
MSG Phoenix defeated the Lions 9-1 (five innings) and 5-0 on 15 September, completing the sweep on 22 September with a 6-4 win in eight innings.It was a re-match of the 2023 Final, when the Lions beat MSG Phoenix in the last of the Five-game series to lift the trophy.
Meanwhile, the D1 Men's Softball League saw Deurne Spartans and the Hoboken Pioneers face each other in the Belgian Series 2024. The Spartans claimed the title with a 3-0 swept over the Pioneers.
The Spartans finished the regular season with a 17-4 record as the top team in the season, followed by the Pioneers who finished just two games behind the leaders.
Both teams collided in the Belgian Series 2024, and the Deurne Spartans won the first three games in a row, 10-3 in six innings; 13-6 in five; and 12-1 in four.
In Belgium baseball, the finals of the Belgian Baseball Championship (D1) will be played by the Hoboken Pioneers and the defending champion Deurne Spartans. They will compete in a best-of-5 Belgian Series Baseball for the national championship.
