The season will resume on 28 August. Both baseball and softball top leagues opened in early July but were forced to stop at the end of the month.

The Royal Belgian Baseball and Softball Federation (KBBSF-FRBBS) is ready to resume action in a 2020 season affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The season started in early July, following a two and a half month delay.

However, the resurgence of the virus in Belgium forced all KBBSF-FRBBS baseball and softball competitions to stop on 29 July. The teams will return to competition, both in the baseball and softball top leagues, on Friday, 28 August.

"The intention is to create as many playing opportunities as possible for our members within the applicable health and safety rules," said KBBSF-FRBBS President René Laforce. "The leagues have drawn up the Safe@Bat & Go regulations and protocols for this purpose, supplemented with guidelines by the Commission of Umpires and Scorers (CUS) officials. We demand strict compliance with this."
