The season will run into early October and there won't be relegation or promotions. The 2019 national champions will participate in European competitions, which have been postponed to 2021.

The Belgian Baseball and Softball Federation (KBBSF, Koninklijke Belgische Baseball & Softball Federatie or FRBBS, Fédération Royale Belge de Baseball et Softball) announced that the baseball and softball seasons will resume on Friday, 3 July.

"Our intention is to create as many game opportunities for our members as it is possible under the current applicable health and safety rules," commented KBBSF-FRBBS President René Laforce.

KBBSF-FRBBS decided that the 2019 national champions would maintain their right to participate in European competitions for 2021. KBBSF's 2020 national championships won't have any promotion or relegation.

KBBSF-FRBBS reached out to all the clubs asking to confirm their participation by Monday, 15 June, with the federation to then set and publish the various schedules.

The season is tentatively set to run into early October.

The top baseball league, or Baseball Gold, at the moment features six participating clubs: Braschhat Braves, Hoboken Pioneers, Borgerhout Squirrels, Deurne Spartans, Royal Grays and the Merchtern Cats.

The Women's Softball First Division has eight participating clubs: Berendrecht Bears, Beveren Lions, Brussels Kangaroos, Chicaboos, Gent Knights, Hoboken Pioneers, Antwerp Eagles, and the Merchtem Cats.

The Men's Softball top league, or Gold, includes six clubs: Braschaat Braves, Brussels Kangaroos, Chicaboos, Hoboken Pioneers, Borgerhout Squirrels, and the Deurne Spartans.

Laforce added on a final note: "We are ready, the Belgian Baseball and Softball clubs have shown in recent weeks that they are resilient and that they can adapt to the challenging situation. We are confident and hope to make it a positive 2020 season.”
