BFA welcome dinner: Asia Baseball/softball community celebrates being back together in person again

WBSC President Fraccari, who attended as a guest of honour: "It feels great to have the baseball and softball community back together again in person."

The Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) organized a welcome dinner for its member Federations at the Marriott Hotel in Taipei City (TPE) on the eve of the WBSC Congress, which starts on Monday. The event followed a meeting of the BFA's Executive Board.

"It feels great to have the baseball and softball community back together again in person," commented WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari, who was welcomed by BFA President Tom Peng as a guest of honour along with WBSC Secretary-General Beng Choo Low, Treasurer Angelo Vicini and Executive Director Michael Schmidt.

"Virtual meetings helped to cope with the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic," added Fraccari. "But people simply needed to see each other in person again and it's great to see such unity and friendship, which you can only experience when you're together like this."

The BFA will elect its new executive board on Sunday, 3 July. The organization has 26 member Federations, 13 of which are baseball/softball governing bodies.

The Marriott Hotel in Taipei City will host the IV WBSC Congress on Monday, 4, and Tuesday, 5 July with a WBSC Executive Board meeting and federation workshops planned for Sunday.
