Bolivia joins Baseball5 movement with introductory coaching course in Sucre

With the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 on the horizon, the Bolivian Olympic Committee supported the activity.

The Bolivian Olympic Committee organised a Baseball5 course for coaches in Sucre, Bolivia, joining the WBSC urban discipline’s global wave. More than 20 coaches participated in the course, hosted from 3 to 5 June.

The three-day course, conducted by WBSC continental instructor Pablo Leone, included topics such as the origins of the discipline, the field of play, basic rules, technical abilities and management of competitions.

The first two days of activities included morning sessions explaining the basics of the sport, and afternoon sessions with practical content. The participants received certificates after a final exam on Sunday 5 June.

The Bolivian Olympic Committee organised the course to prepare the coaches for the development of the new urban discipline in the country, with some multi-sports games on the horizon.

The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will feature 35 sports overall, including the debut of Baseball5, the first WBSC discipline to be featured at the YOG. Its unique format will also make it the first Olympic team sport to feature mixed-gender teams. It is expected that Baseball5 is to be included in the next Youth Bolivarian Games in Sucre.
