Canada denied Singapore of another upset win to put their second win in the bag at the U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Following a slow start, Canada surged to victory highlighted by a Connor Brooks home run to win 8-4.

Brooks led the way for Canada with four RBIs on top of pitching in 4 innings (4 H 4 R, 4 SO), while Major and McKay combined for four runs. Mohammad Huzaifie Bin Mohammad Noorham pitched Singapore in 4.0 innings (8 H, 7 R, 3 SO).

Singapore, who beat Argentina on the opening days, continued where they left off by scoring three runs in the 1st innings. Zu Ray Low, Ignatius Ong and Ean Eu all scored as Canadian pitcher Reese Yantzi struggled find his range.

But Canadian kept pace with Singapore at their first turn at bat. Connor Brooks hit a single to centre field to score Max Major before Mason McKay scored another after Jackson Pegelo opened up the middle to pull to within one at 3-2.

Major gave Canada another RBI as Jack Becker scored in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game, before Xavier Daneau and Major scored off wild pitches. Then Brooks repeated Saturday's heroics by hitting his second home run in two days scoring Joey Rousseau and himself to put Canada up 7-3.

This forced a pitching change for Singapore with Huzaifie being replaced by Singapore's star from their Argentina win Mathew Tan.

Max Koh scored once more for Singapore in the top of the fifth but Brooks came up with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to score Mason McKay for what would be the final score 8-4.
