Celebrating 100 days to the Tokyo 2020 Games, WBSC unveils first Spanish edition of The Global Game podcast series

Today marks 100 days to the official opening of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Marking 100 days to go to the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today launched the first Spanish edition of The Global Game, the new WBSC monthly podcast series.

“Baseball and softball are amongst the top major sports in Latin America, with millions of baseball and softball fans and players who are Spanish speakers,” said WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. “The new Global Game podcast is a component of WBSC’s overall global development and brand strategy, and launching it today with 100 days to Tokyo 2020 -- and the return of Olympic baseball and softball -- makes this a truly special milestone.”

The first edition of the Spanish podcast features Cuban baseball great and Atlanta 1996 gold medallist José Contreras, Mexican National/Olympic Softball Team catcher Sashel Palacios and WBSC President Fraccari.

The Spanish version of The Global Game is hosted by Venezuelan radio personality Adriana Flores.

The English version of The Global Game was launched this past Monday, hosted by WBSC play-by-play announcer Tyler Maun, and featured US two-time Olympic medallist Cat Osterman, Israel National/Olympic Baseball Team player and former MLB All-Star Ian Kinsler, and WBSC President Fraccari.
