Chinese Taipei announce WBSC Premier12 coaching staff

'Totoro' Tseng's staff will include Chih-Kang Kao, Chien-Min Wang, Chiang-Ho Chen, and Cheng-Min Peng.

World No. 5 Chinese Taipei announced the coaching staff for the WBSC Premier12 2024, presented by RAXUS. Manager Hao-Ju Tseng proposed his list, which the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) Premier12 preparatory committee approved.

Uni-President Lions coach Chih-Kang Kao will serve as the bench coach. Former MLB pitcher and Olympian Chien-Min Wang, now on the CTBC Brothers staff, will be the pitching coach. Chiang-Ho Chen, also on the Brothers' staff, will be the infield coach. Former Brothers manager Cheng-Min Peng will work as the hitting coach.

Totoro Tseng and Wang are the only members of the Premier12 2019 staff returning.

CPBL secretary-general Ching-Lung Tang (pictured above with Tseng) announced that the next preparatory meeting will present a list of 80 players considered for the Premier12 roster. Tseng is planning a scouting trip overseas to finalize the list.

The III WBSC Premier12 is scheduled from 10 to 24 November. The 12 participants will split into two groups. Guadalajara and Tepic, Mexico, will host Group A. Nagoya (Japan), and Taipei City will be the venues for Group B. The Tokyo Dome will host the Super Round and the medal games.

The composition of the groups will be announced soon.
