The 28-man provisional roster for Chinese Taipei national squad has been announced by head coach Hsieh Chang-Heng this past week.
Two MLB pitchers, Chien-Ming Wang (ex-Washington Nationals and ex-NY Yankees) and lefty Hong-Chih Kuo (former LA Dodgers) are the stars on the top of the list.
According to all indications, head coach Hsieh will call upon the two seasoned MLB pitchers Wang and Kuo, if they are healthy, to start in the two key games against Australia and the Netherlands.
Chinese Taipei is hosting the WBC First Round Pool B, against stiff competition from Korea, Australia, and the Netherlands. The games will take place at the Taichung Intercontinental Stadium from March 2 to 5, with the top two teams advance to the Second Round pools.
The announced Chinese Taipei provisional roster included 13 pitchers, 3 catchers, 7 infielders, and 5 outfielders.
