Baseball Canada's Board of Directors and Executive Committee have elected Chris Balison as the federation's new president at a Special General Meeting.

Balison steps in for Jason Dickson, who became Baseball Canada CEO last August.

I’d like to congratulate Chris on the honour of becoming Baseball Canada President," commented Dickson through Baseball Canada website. "I’ve had the chance to work with Chris in recent years and look forward to continuing that working relationship with the shared vision of the growth and development of baseball in Canada."

A Crown Prosecutor in Kamloops, British Columbia, Balison dedicated a big part of his life to amateur baseball. He became president of Kamloops Baseball in 2014 and helped nearly double the association's registration numbers. He has served as the president of Baseball British Columbia since 2020.

"I thank Jason for his contributions as president and look forward to working with him in his new role as CEO," commented Balison. "He’s left big shoes to fill, but I am excited to lead Baseball Canada in our continued pursuit of excellence and innovation."

Federally incorporated in 1964 as the Canadian Federation of Amateur Baseball, Baseball Canada is the national governing body for baseball in Canada and is made up of 10 provincial associations representing players, coaches and umpires nationwide. Baseball Canada is a member of both the Canadian Olympic Committee and the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). It is funded and recognized by Sport Canada and Canadian Heritage, and is recognized by Revenue Canada as having charitable status.

Balison became the 12th president in the history of the organization.
