Coaching staffs set for USA Softball Men’s National Team programs

The senior and U-23 national teams will play their respective continental qualifiers in 2022, aiming to advance to the WBSC World Cups later in the year.

The USA Softball Men's, U-23 and U-18 National Teams have their coaching staffs established for future international competitions. Both the senior and U-23 national teams will play their respective continental qualifiers in 2022, aiming to advance to the respective WBSC Softball World Cups later in the year.

Nick McCurry, Gerald Muizelaar and Ron Guzman will assist USA Softball Men’s National Softball Team head coach Ron Hackett. USA will play the Pan American Championship this year, a qualifier for the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup 2022 in Auckland, New Zealand.

USA’s 2022 senior squad adds three veteran coaches to its leadership with the assistance of Guzman, McCurry and Muizelaar who each helped the U.S. to a historic silver medal finish at the 2019 Pan American Games – ending a 16-year medal drought for the MNT program.

Chase Turner, Mike Hopkins and Tom Crouch will join Tim Lyon at the helm of USA's U-23 national softball team, which also will play the category’s Pan American Championship and the Softball World Cup in Argentina. Turner, Hopkins and Crouch will make their first appearance as assistant coaches for the U-23 MNT program

Additionally, Dave Myers, Avon Meacham and Bob Piddock will join the U-18 national team coaching staff alongside head coach Tony Aresco.
