Counting down to 31 August: Official promo video for XXXI U-18 Baseball World Cup released

Some of the biggest stars have competed in the event since its inaugural edition in 1981. The video highlights the talent and skill sets that fans can witness at the U-18 Baseball World Cup.

The WBSC released the official promotional video of the XXXI U-18 Baseball World Cup.

Since its inaugural edition in 1981, the U-18 Baseball World Cup has always showcased top talent and future stars.

Two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, the 2023 World Baseball Classic MVP, represented Japan in the 2012 edition in Seoul, Korea.

Triston Casas, the starting first baseman for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB), earned MVP honours in the 2017 edition in Thunder Bay, Canada.

Roki Sasaki, who April 2022 threw the first Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) perfect game in 28 years, competed for Japan in the 2019 edition in Gijang City, Korea.

Seven reigning U-18 World Champions, including MVP Bryce Eldridge, were selected in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

The video highlights the talent fans can witness at every U-18 Baseball World Cup edition.

The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) will host the U-18 Baseball World Cup in Taipei and Taichung from 31 August to 10 September.

The 12 participants will split into two groups:

Group A: World No. 3 Mexico, No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 5 Korea, No. 9 Australia, No. 11 Puerto Rico, No. 16 Czechia.

Group B: No. 1 Japan, No. 2 USA, No. 6 Venezuela, No. 8 Netherlands, No. 14 Panama, No. 21 Spain.

The United States are the defending U-18 World Champions.
