The Panama Baseball Federation (Fedebeis) has announced that Cristóbal Girón will manage their U-23 National Team.
A former national champion with Panama Metro as a player, Giron led both Panama Oeste and Panama Metro to national championships as a head coach. He also won eight youth national championships.
Former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Rafael Medina will serve as the pitching coach. The coaching staff also includes Angel Hernández, Kenny Serracín and Aurelio González.
Panama recently opened camp with 39 players at Roberto Hernández Stadium in Las Tablas, the capital of the Los Santos province. Girón and his coaches will have to cut the roster to 24 before the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup, set to open in the Sonora State, Mexico, on 23 September.
