Cuba reveals roster for WBSC Baseball Americas Olympic Qualifier

The core of the 26-player selection is the team that competed in the Premier12 2019

The Cuban National Team is travelling to Mexico for a series of warm-up games with an expanded roster, but manager Miguel Borroto has already reportedly picked his 26-man squad for the WBSC Baseball Americas Qualifier for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020.

The core of the Cuban roster is the team that didn't make it out of the opening round of the WBSC Premier12 2019. Only five of the 26 players selected were not on that roster: right-handed starter Brian Chi Montoya, left-handed starter Yamichel Perez, veteran right handed reliever Frank Medina, veteran catchers Frank Morejon, Yendry Tellez and veteran second baseman Dayan Garcia.

The Americas Qualifier is scheduled from 22 to 26 March in Surprise and Tempe, Arizona.
World No. 8 Cuba will start the event in Group B, together with No. 9 Venezuela, No. 12 Canada and No. 14 Colombia. Cuba will open the qualifier against Venezuela.
