Chinese Taipei beat Brasil (10-4). The Far East team took the lead in the first out of a triple by leadoff Chang Wei Shen and went 2-0 in the third with another triple by Hung Chen Wei. Chinese Taipei is now tied in third place.

Cuba cruised (11-5) over Venezuela. A solid offense (15 hits) made the difference. Edgar Escobar pitched 8 innings for the win, despite struggles in the 4th, when Venezuela came within one run from a tie.

A strong start set the pace for Mexico win (16-6) over Nicaragua. A6 run first inning, highlighted by a 3 run batted in double by Botello, was the key. Botello was the first of 5 mexican pitchers to take the mound and struck out 7 in 3 innings. Reliever Erick Casillas was credited with the win.
