Cuba wins the inaugural Baseball5 Americas Open in a final with Venezuela.

CARTAGENA, Colombia — After a rough start with a loss to host Colombia on the opening game on day 1, finally Cuba wins the inaugural Baseball5 Americas Open in a final with Venezuela.

Like the opening round, also the finals were played over a series of best to 3 games. Cuba passed 2-0 with a score 12-7 and 11-1

The final standings are completed by Colombia, who won over Puerto Rico in the third place final series 2-0, with Guatemala closing in fifth.

Locals and tourists alike crowded the stands for the whole duration of the tournament as games were often more more spectacular than expected.

The intensity and the speed and the high quality many plays provided novelty and show which captivated audience and local press.

The inaugural Baseball5 Americas Open proved the new 5-on-5 urban version of Baseball Softball successful in another of its endless possible applications.

All finalists shared the prize money as shown in the gallery, impressive was also the bond that the teams created between each others during he tournament. All of them are looking forward to meet again at the 2020 edition of the event.
