Cuba's Superior School for Top Athletes welcomes 16 Baseball5 players

The group includes seven defending WBSC Baseball5 World Champions and eight WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup winners.

The Superior School for Top Athletes Development (ESFAAR, Escuela Superior de Formación de Atletas de Alto Rendimiento) Giraldo Córdova Cardín in East Havana, Cuba, welcomed 16 (nine male and seven female) Baseball5 players.

The group of nine men includes WBSC Baseball5 World Cup 2022 winners Briandy Molina, Orlando Amador (Havana); Roivelis Núñez (Santiago de Cuba); Cristian Basabe (Artemisa) and WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup winners Jadier Ulloa and Josué Gutiérrez (Artemisa); Alexander Ortiz (Santiago); Yoel David Blanco (Guantanamo) and rookie Carlos Yotuel Estrada (Havana).

The seven women are defending Baseball5 World Champions Claudia Lores de Holguín, Chakira Aspiazú (Guantanamo), Lietis Arcia (Sancti Spiritus), and defending Youth Baseball5 World Champions Haila González (Artemisa), Amanda Diaz (Havana) and Claudia Gomez (Granma). Ylena Otamendez Raymond (Guantanamo) completes the list.

"This gives continuity to the work we have been doing for five years. It allows us to focus much more and evaluate with them the critical path towards the main international events of the year. It is an opportunity they deserve for all their results," commented Eros Bernal, head of Baseball5 in Cuba.
