Argentina, Czech Republic to meet ahead of WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship 2018

Czech Republic will be touring Argentina to play some test matches and a tournament against the host team.

World No. 7 Czech Republic is working to get ready for the next WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship, to be held in Prince Albert, Canada, from 7-15 July 2018. Starting next weekend, the European team will be touring Argentina to play some test matches and a tournament against the host team.

The Czech Republic won in 2017 the Junior Men’s European title for the fourth time in a row, and is looking to carry the success into the next WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship. And in order to do that they will bring a 14 men roster to Argentina to tune up for this event.

In the other hand, the No. 4 Argentina has one of the most successful Junior Men’s Softball programs in the last years, conquering two WBSC World Championships (2012 and 2014) and a fourth place in the last edition of this event.

With less than four months to the first pitch in Prince Albert, both teams will play eight test matches and a four-team tournament on the final weekend of the trip. Besides, the Europeans will face four local senior clubs throughout the week.

The activities in Parana will kick off tomorrow, with a press conference to present the tour, starting on Saturday with the test matches between the two national teams. To finish the journey, Czech Republic and Argentina junior national teams will join Argentina Senior National Team and Parana All Stars in a two-day tournament, from 24-25 March.

In October, Argentina will be again in the spotlight of our sport, with the organization of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, where the newly presented WBSC street discipline Baseball5 will be featured at the sports initiation zone.
