Czech Republic, France national baseball teams show support to Ukraine as both teams compete in Tenerife, Spain

The Czech Republic made a donation to Ukraine, fundraising with every hit and scoreless inning.

The Czech and French national baseball teams came together to play a WBSC-sanctioned three-games series in Tenerife, Spain. The first two games were stopped due to rain, with the final match ending with a 15-2 Czech Republic win. Before the start of the last game, players from both teams posed in front of a blue and yellow heart drawn on the floor to show support to Ukraine in these difficult times while the Czech Republic made a donation to Ukraine, fundraising with every hit and scoreless inning.

Czech Republic used a pair of big innings in the third and eighth (seven and six runs respectively) to clinch the win in the only completed game of the series.

The opening game of the series finished after seven complete innings, with the teams tied at 10-10. The second match was interrupted by rain in the 6th inning with the score tied at four.

Both teams are preparing for the European Qualification tournament for the World Baseball Classic to be played later in the year.

Czech Republic, which recently launched a Men's Baseball LA 2028 Olympic Games project, is ranked No. 14 in the WBSC Baseball World Ranking while France is No. 22.
