Czechia, Israel qualify for U-18 Men's Softball World Cup 2023

The Czechs defeated Israel in the final of the European Championship.

World No. 6 Czechia defeated No. 17 Israel in the final, 10-0, to claim the U-18 Men's Softball European Championship. No. 11 Denmark defeated No. 32 Great Britain in the third-place game, 4-1.

In reaching the final of the European event, Czechia and Israel qualified for the WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico, which will take place from 11 to 19 November.

The 12-team tournament has already eight qualified nations:

  • Africa: No. 14 South Africa
  • Americas (4)
  • Asia: No. 3 Japan, No. 12 Singapore
  • Europe:  No. 6 Czechia, No. 17 Israel
  • Oceania: No. 2 Australia, No. 7 New Zealand
  • Wild Card/Host: No. 10 Mexico

Japan are the defending U-18 Softball World Champions after winning the 2020 edition in Palmerston North City, New Zealand.

The 2020 tournament was the first branded U-18 Men's Softball World Cup after 12 editions of the Junior Men's Softball World Championship.

It was also the only international baseball/softball event disputed in 2020. The rest of the season was cancelled during the COVID-19 outbreak.
