Czechia, Italy, Ireland qualify for WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup. Czechia clinch second consecutive European Championship
Czechia defeated Italy, 9-1, in the final and claimed their second consecutive European title.
The WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup has three new qualified nations after the conclusion of the category’s European Championship. World No. 10 Czechia, No. 8 Italy and No. 17 Ireland advanced to the World Cup, scheduled to begin next year with the Group Stage. Czechia defeated Italy, 9-1, in the final and claimed their second consecutive European title.
The U-18 Women’s Softball European Championship took place in Prague, Czechia, with 20 participating teams. A total of 86 games were played in three fields across seven competition days.
Italy (undefeated in the tournament) and Czechia (4-1) advanced to the final after the Super Round, and earned a berth in the World Cup. However, the host team prevailed over the Italian squad, 9-1 in five innings, to claim the title on home soil. The victory marked Czechia's third European championship title and second in a row.
For third place, and with a ticket to the World Cup at stake, Ireland stunned No. 9 the Netherlands, 7-6 in extra innings, to reach the podium.
