After four scoreless innings, Czechia exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to grab a knockout win over South Africa and secure the 10th place in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2022 in Hermosillo, Mexico.
Daniel Sobotka struck out six in four innings, while issuing four walks. Vit Ventruba allowed the lone South African hit of the game in one inning of work.
With the win, Czechia secured the 10th place in the final standings of the tournament, matching their best finish ever in the U-15 age category. They also finished 10th in the third edition of the U-15 World Cup in Iwaki 2016.
South Africa finishes in 13th place and ends the tournament winless.
