Two National Teams have already qualified for the 2023 youth baseball world championship: the winner of the U-12 European Championship, Germany, and the runner-up, Czechia.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) today announced the next U-12 Baseball World Cup will be held from 28 July to 6 August 2023 at Tainan's Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadium.

Two National Teams have already qualified for the youth baseball world championship: the winner of the U-12 European Championship, Germany, and the runner-up, Czechia.

Teams qualify into the 12-team tournament through their respective continental championships or through a wild card:

The U.S. U-12 National Team won the VI U-12 Baseball World Cup earlier this month, defeating Venezuela in the final in Tainan, while Chinese Taipei defeated the Dominican Republic in the bronze medal game. The tournament, originally scheduled for the summer of 2021, was postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19-related travel restrictions.

About the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup

Scheduled to take place every two years, the WBSC launched the U-12 Baseball World Cup in 2011. Taiwan has hosted all six editions. Taipei City hosted the first two, while Tainan earned hosting rights from 2015 and through the 2027 edition.

The United States (2013, 2015, 2017, 2022) and Chinese Taipei (2011 and 2019) have been the only teams to have won the U-12 Baseball World Cup.

Chinese Taipei had second-place, silver medal finishes in 2013, 2015 and 2017 and bronze in 2022. Cuba won a silver medal in 2011 and bronze in 2019. Japan won silver in 2019 and bronze in 2013. Venezuela won silver in 2022 and bronze in 2011. Nicaragua won the 2015 bronze medal.
