Dominican Baseball Federation confirms Juan Núñez as president

The incumbent, who led a ticket named after his predecessor 'Tito' Pereyra, earned 30 out of 31 votes.

The member associations of the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOBE) confirmed Juan Núñez Nepomuceno as national federation president through 2026.

Núñez has been in office since June 2019, when he stepped in for the late Hector Tito Pereyra, who had passed away days before his 59th birthday, while serving his seventh term as FEDOBE president. The incumbent, who led the Tito Pereyra ticket under the slogan 'Work, Transparency and Consolidation', earned 30 of the 31 votes.

The Dominican Republic last year won its first-ever Olympic medal in baseball when the country took bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

After the elections, Núñez and his board were sworn in before the Dominican Republic National Olympic Committee President Antonio Acosta, who encouraged him to keep working together for Dominican baseball.

"I want to thank all the presidents of the associations," commented Núñez, "in particular Joselito Canó, for the support they gave me through the last two years, helping me complete the term started by our unforgettable Tito. Thank you for your renewed trust."

The board includes Bruno Terrero Medrano (international relations), José Sena Gómez (organization secretary), Víctor Vázquez (environment secretary), Eligna Rodríguez Peña (women's secretary), Sandy Lara Pérez, Antonio Wilfredo Torres and Eduardo Phipps (Members at Large).
