The Czechs stayed in the game through the fourth. Then the Dominican Republic opened the score in the fifth.

The Dominican Republic defeated Czechia, 17-2.

Despite getting only two hits against Miguel Medina, the Czechs scored two runs and remained in the game through the fourth.

In the top of the fifth, the Dominicans got to reliever Matour Brabec with five hits. Brabec didn't get much support from his defence and couldn't get through the inning.

The Dominicans added six more runs on six hits, including a home run by third baseman German Altagracia, in the top of the sixth.

The Dominican Republic (2-1) will face Japan (1-2) on Wednesday in the last game of group play. They need a win to finish second behind the US. If Japan wins, the Team Quality Balance (TQB) will break a three-way tie that includes Korea (2-2).

The Czech Republic (0-4) will compete in the placement round.
