Allin served as an assistant coach of the Canadian team at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship 2019.

Doug Allin has been named Softball Canada's U-23 Men’s National Team head coach with his first target set on the inaugural WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup cycle. Allin will now join the selection committee who will choose his assistant coaches. The inaugural U-23 Softball World Cup will take place in Argentina in 2022.

Allin, 51, was Canada's assistant coach at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championships 2019, where the North American team clinched the bronze medal. He was John Stuart’s scout for the two previous Softball World Championships, helping Canada win in 2015 and secure the bronze medal in 2017.

The inaugural U-23 Men's Softball World Cup will be played in Argentina in 2022 and will feature the age-group's best players across 12 countries.
