8 teams to open WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup Americas qualifier in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela

World No. 1 Argentina, No. 8 Mexico, No. 9 Venezuela, No. 13 Guatemala, No. 20 Dominican Republic, No. 27 Colombia, No. 30 Panama and No. 32 Peru will play a single round robin from 23-28 July.

From 23-30 July, Puerto Ordaz will host the first-ever U-23 Men’s Softball Pan American Championship, a qualifier event for the category’s WBSC World Cup, set to take place in October in Argentina. The continental tournament will be hosted at Estadio Ferrominera in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela.

World No. 1 Argentina, No. 8 Mexico, No. 9 Venezuela, No. 13 Guatemala, No. 20 Dominican Republic, No. 27 Colombia, No. 30 Panama and No. 32 Peru will play a six-day single round-robin from 23-28 July.

The top four nations in the final standings will advance to the maiden WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup, set to take place in Parana, Argentina, from 22-30 October. 

No. 4 Australia, No. 5 Czech Republic, No. 6 New Zealand, No. 11 South Africa and No. 19 Israel have already qualified for the World Cup in Argentina. Two more teams will come from the Asia qualifier, while the last team will be a wild card.
