COVID-19 safety protocols allow a maximum of 80 people in the venues during games; thus, the competition will not be open to the general public.

Players, coaches and umpires will be tested before each weekend series.

"It was crucial for us to start our top league as soon as possible in a season that will see our National Team compete in the European Championship," said CBA President Petr Ditrich. "We will fully comply with the COVID-19 protocols."

The Czech Republic, which has one of the strongest baseball programmes in Europe, is currently sitting at No. 16 in WBSC Baseball World Rankings.
