WBSC Europe announced the third edition of the European Baseball Winter League (EBWL), a development opportunity for European prospects in the 17-23 age range, is scheduled from 18 to 26 November in Tenerife, Spain.
WBSC Europe will accept applications until 15 June and will reveal the final rosters by 15 July. Players will need to apply through their National Federations.
The participation fee of €600 per player included full board accommodation and local transportation. International travel is at the cost of the participants.
The coaching staff will include former Spanish National Team stars Néstor Pérez and Manny Olivera and veteran coach Pete Caliendo.
WBSC Europe partners with the Royal Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation and the Canary Islands Baseball and Softball Federation.
Fifty-four prospects from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain participated in the second edition of the EBWL. They split into three teams, Golden Stars, Blue Lions, and Red Bulls.
The Red Bulls won the final against the Golden Stars.
