Fortitudo Bologna White Sox tri-peat as Italian Blind Baseball League champions

After beating Lampi Milano in the 2021 and 2022 finals, the three-time champions won Patrini Malnate, 5-1, in the 2023 championship game. The Italian blind baseball season will resume in September.

Fortitudo Bologna White Sox defeated Patrini Malnate in the final, 5-1, at the Leoni field in Bologna and won their third consecutive ìItalian Blind Baseball League (LIBCI) title. Fortitudo White Sox defeated Lampi Milano in the 2021 and 2022 finals.

Bologna and Malnate qualified for the finals as the regular season's top-seeded and best defensive teams. The balance resulted in a 1-1 tie through the third inning.

Fortitudo White Sox scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth and never needed to look back, thanks to their strong defence.

Raul Rivero and Eugene Halder of the Fortitudo Bologna Italian Baseball League team presented the game's first ball to Gaetano Casale, Patrini's leadoff hitter.

LIBCI was founded by the Italian Blind Baseball Association (AIBxC, a WBSC Associate Member) in 1997. It is sanctioned and co-organized by the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS).

The Italian blind baseball season will resume on 10 September in Malnate with the All-Star Game and the Home Run Derby.
