Natalie Budinova had two hits and three RBIs to lead Czech Republic to its first WBSC U-12 Softball World Cup final appearance, following their victory over Hong Kong.

Natalie Budinova, Sebastian Mckeon, Adam Sladek and Marketa Slucova recorded multiple hits as the Czech Republic rolled into final with a 16-1 semifinal win over Hong Kong on Saturday at the II WBSC U-12 Softball World Cup at Jin-long Stadium.

Budinova had two hits and three RBIs for the Czech Republic, while Mckeon, Sladek and Slucova each added two hits and two RBIs. The entire Czech starting line-up scored a run, led by Tereza Valtusova and Mckeon who each completed three runs.

The game started with Hong Kong doing a great job in keeping the Czech Republic offence in check to keep a scoreless opening inning. However, as the Czech Republic offence got their rhythm going in the bottom of the second inning, the Hong Kong infield defence had no answer for the prolific hitting from their Czech rivals.

The Czech Republic scored 12 runs in the second inning, with Budinova’s RBI double powering Sladek and Svecova to score the runs, while Mckeon closed the inning with a run off Budinova’s single.

Ching Chan provided the lone run for Hong Kong in the third inning before conceding to the Europeans who scored four more runs to secure the 16-1 victory and the first final spot.
