France launches plan to provide portable Baseball5 fields to regional leagues

"It's an additional tool in the development strategy of this new urban discipline," said National Federation President Fabien Carrette-Legrand.

The French Baseball Softball Federation (FFBS) announced a plan to provide portable Baseball5 fields to the regional leagues.

The plan is funded with a €50,000 grant from the National Sports Agency

The initiative is part of the FFBS ongoing strategy to develop the five-on-five version of baseball/softball.

"It's an additional tool in the development strategy of this new urban discipline, which has just gained high-level recognition by the Minister of Sports," commented FFBS President Fabien Carrette-Legrand. "By helping our regional leagues organizing demonstrations and events with proper material, we want to build upon the dynamic we've experienced since launching Baseball5 and promote the game by continuing to educate our community to this new discipline and reach new audiences with a sport they can easily understand and play."

France, the first Baseball5 European Champions, will host the second edition of the Baseball5 French Open for the U-15, U-16 age brackets in January.
