Germany, Netherlands qualify for WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2018

WIENER NEUSTADT, Austria-Germany and The Netherlands beat Czech Republic and France in the semi finals, qualified for the final of the European Championship and earned their spot in the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup

Germany and The Netherlands will represent Europe in the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup. They won the semi finals of the European Championship against Czech Republic and France and will play the Championship game on Sunday 23 July in Wiener Neustadt (Austria)

Germany needed 4 pitchers to resist Czech come back attempt and win the semi final 9-8. Starter Weyer got the win and reliever Kloppenburg pitcher 2.1 innings of 1 hit ball to earn the save.
Germany was off a very good start against starter Pacal, who gave up 6 earned runs while getting only 3 outs.
Czech Republic scored 5, on 5 hits and 1 error, in the fifth but was just 1 run short from tying the game, stranding 2 runners in the sixth and 2 in the seventh, when they couldn’t score with runners at second and third and 1 out.

The Netherlands beat France 6-2 thanks to a brilliant joint performance by pitcher Stuart, Gonesh and Giterson, who shut out France for 6 innings.
The game turned out to be a pitching duel for 3 frames. In the fourth french starter walked lead off hitter Velders and the Dutch got to reliever Foucaud capitaling on his wildness and simply putting the ball in play.
