Germany's U-23 National Baseball Team opens camp in Tenerife

Manager Steve Janssen has selected 20 players, half of them represented Germany at the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2021.

The German U-23 National Baseball Team has opened camp in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

Manager Steve Janssen selected 20 players: Pascal Amon (Regensburg Legionaere), Vincent Ahrens (Bonn Capitals), Merlin Bendlin (Mannheim Tornados), Maurice Bendrien (Paderborn Untouchables), Marco Cardoso (Stuttgart Reds), Tim Fischer (Regensburg Legionaere), Marcel Giraud (Tornados Mannheim), Simon Gross (Oosterhout Twins, Netherlands), Luca Hoerger (Heidenheim Heidekoepfe), Florian Kawczynski (Cologne Cardinals), Luca Kloppenburg (Paderborn Untouchables), Sascha Koch, Danny Lankhorst (Bonn Capitals), Simon Liedtke (Heidenheim Heidekoepfe), Noah Lindt (Bonn Capitals), Daniel Mendelsohn (Royal Bavarians), Sven Schueller, Elias von Garssen (Regensburg Legionaere), Yannic Walther (Heidenheim Heidekoepfe), Yannic Wildenhain (Mainz Athletics).

Outfielders Amon, Lankhorst; infielders Bendlin, Cardoso; catcher Bendrien; pitchers Gross, Kloppenburg, Liedtke, Mendelsohn and Wildenhain featured on the roster that represented Germany at the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup last year in Mexico.

Janssen's coaching staff includes Simon Guehring, Kris Van Deiren and Troy Williams, who were with the team also at the U-23 Baseball World Cup.

Germany is currently No. 18 in WBSC Baseball World Rankings.
